This is one of the few instances where he is seen as helping Kirby as opposed to hindering him. Nonetheless, this started a popular trend in the series where King Dedede would serve as the apparent final boss, but collecting all the pieces of the games key item would reveal the true instigator of Dream Lands problems. In Kirbys Avalanche, Dedede makes an appearance twice The first time is at the ending of Easy mode, where he announces the Dream Fountain cup of the Avalanche tournament.
